Back in the Swing of Things
“Well, howdy there, internet people.” I know it’s been a little while since we’ve been updating the devlog, or really posting much on our socials, but such is the way of things. For better or for worse, the new “real world” job has been keeping me pretty busy. It’s good work, rewarding, and pays well. But it can definitely be draining! That said, I’m glad I’ve landed where I’m at and that we’re getting back into the swing of me working a full time job in addition to the work on S.E.E.R. and the crafting side of the business.
Not to say there hasn’t been any progress at all, because there definitely has been. Nathan and I have re-written a good chunk of the Shaping Effects, tweaked some rules here and there, and have been working a lot on updating our playtesting and publishing lists. It’s been a fun opportunity to address some changes we’ve wanted to make in the fluff and playstyles of the various factions. It’s also given us a chance to playtest a little bit as we reintroduced the updated game rules to a few playtesting friends. The results were really good! The recent changes we’ve made to Scales, close combat balance, and Shaping all seem to be trending the game in the right direction. The folks that played this week had a good time and had good feedback.
We’re planning to get some more playtesting and demo work done in the coming months as we’re working through more content creation for the books, so if you happen to see us out and about, drop by our tables and say hello!
